I am back again today to share the vintage inspired baby shower I threw for my girlfriend, Heidi, who happens to be
a huge fan of all things vintage and handmade. Thankfully, that is something we have in common so pulling
together a special day for her was a lot of fun for me as well!
Even though I didn’t torture the women with tacky baby shower games (sorry if you have a particular affection
for them!), we had a ton of fun just sitting together, chatting about babies and sipping coffee and tea…
Oh, yes, and eating lots of yummy treats!
I ordered these adorable popcorn bags from Hey Yo Yo on Etsy and then filled them with popcorn,
of course! The paper chain was made using loads of my favorite papers by Crate Paper, which
truly was love because I have been hoarding some of those papers for years! I couldn’t
help but imagine them eventually hanging in the new little guy’s nursery corner, so
I didn’t mind making the sacrifice!
I filled a jar full of Snickerdoodle cookies (who thought of such a silly name anyway?)
So many of the ladies asked for the recipe that I thought you all might like it as well?
This recipe comes from an adaption from a cookbook I have baked from many times
and absolutely love called, Cookies!.
Traveling Mama’s Snickerdoodles
I also made this simple cupcakes. Both the cupcake and the icing recipes are from Wilton, but don’t
let a big brand scare you off. They are divine!! Again, the wrappers are from Hey Yo Yo and
the papers by Crate Paper.
Oh, yes, and then there were mini tea sandwiches and tex mex bites that I made
in an attempt to balance out all the yummy sweets!
I know that baby showers are not a tradition in many places outside the US, but to me it is one of my favorite
traditions because it gives us a chance to celebrate a new mom before she begins a new phase of her life.
It is almost a bit of a rite of passage and I was so honored to be a part of Heidi’s special day!
As each of our guests said their good-bye’s, each received a pretty little bag filled with a Chocolate Hazelnut cookie.
It was probably for the best that there were no left overs for this one. I could have eaten them all!
Though this is not the original shower invitation because the one sent out has been accepted
for publication, I made another one to share with you, so you could see how one
might invite friends and family for the special day!
My gift to Heidi was a set of the photos from the photo shoot we did with her. I will have more to
share about that tomorrow!
Well, I hope you enjoyed the little peek! I am excited for Heidi and cannot wait to meet the new little guy soon!

You are so very talented! Lovely photos and lovely treats. I can imagine that you all had a wonderful time together. While living in the US I had both my boys so I got to experience two fantastic baby showers. It’s really a wonderful thing. If I have the chance here in Sweden I would love to host one just to let someone else feel so special. =) Oh, and I really love how you layer all those different textures together in your cards and layouts. Glassine, paper, twine, die cuts… I’m inspired to get creative. Thanks for your wonderful posts.
This is the cutest thing ever. I love every detail of your party- so awesome! I found this through your cookie post BTW- so much good stuff on your blog, I had to catch up a little bit. Thinking of making those snickerdoodles. Yes, silly name indeed!
