Baja Breezey

I’m writing from my very breezy stamp room.  Apparently double paned windows were not part of plan when our house was built in the 50′s, so it’s a bit chilly!  Thankfully it’s much warmer today than yesterday.  We actually had sleet!  Brrrr!  My stamp room ended up having big puddles of water all over the floor! Ugh!  We’ve been told that this weather is not typical… don’t we live near the desert??

Anyways!  I have a quick ornament (first pic) and card to share with you today from Kristina’s color challenge.  Every year since Jack and I got engaged we have bought a special ornament that “summed up” the major events/themes of the year.  We’ve got everything from a wedding bell ornament to baby’s first Christmas.  This year was going to be a challenge since there are only a few ornaments available here in Morocco (mostly just plastic balls.)  So I decided to make an ornament this year, which really does say a lot about our year since it’s homemade!  Plus I made it so we could write a special memory of our second year here in Morocco!

Also, since I LOVE these colors I had to make a {heart} card this week!  Plus I’m so far behind on Christmas stuff I decided to just quit and start on Valentine’s. Oh geez… did I just admit that?  Anyhoo!  I pulled out my heart punch and my paper scraps, which apparently I’ve been using a lot of recently.  Why let ‘em got to waste?  Right?

Wishing you all warm and not-so-breezy days (unless of course they are baja breezey days!)

I don’t think I’m going to get to play this week.
I’ve got Jorja’s 2nd Birthday to organise. (I’m up to my eyeballs in Mickey Mouse!!!) and I’m not sure he fits these colours hahaha…. But I could give it a go I guess!!! LOL.
Take Care

How sweet you guys are getting special ornaments for the year and I love that you made one to journal on! What a fantastic idea. Your card is great too – might have to case that one, hehe. Both your submissions this week are amazing – bet we’ll see you in the top ten this week.

That is too funny, I too was tossing around Valentines ideas the other day because when I look at the things that need to be done for Christmas, I thought I’d escape to the next holiday! Okay, back to reality. Your creations are wonderful. I love the idea of the hand made Christmas ornament this year. In years to come when you decorate your tree and hang this ornament, you’ll have so many memories bursting from it. Be well, Amy.

Another cute card and I love the ornament. You are in the 50′s, girl we have been at 0 with a high yesterday of 14. It warmed up to 42 today. We had 18inches of snow last week. Anyway stay warm and toasty! Have a wonderful Christmas.

Love the ornament, bet it looks even better in real life. Well done.

I absolutely love both, the card and ornament. You can only do so many christmas cards before you feel the need to switch to another holiday. Your creations are always the cutest!

Wow! They are both beautiful! I love love love the first one!

27 Melissa G December 18, 2008 at 2:56 am

I really like the ornament. I’m really into that muted color palate. I am often inspired to do stamping as well, but never come up with something so creative. I just have to keeping looking at your finished projects.

28 Anthonette December 18, 2008 at 5:09 am

Wow, your mojo is in high gear! Great job with Kristina’s colors. I love all the details on the ornament.

I can’t believe you get puddles of water in your studio! We got double-paned windows through out the house last year and boy do they make a difference. I remember you writing that you can see the curtains moving because of the wind coming in. Sending you warm wishes from California. It’s actually cold here. There is snow on top of Mt. Hamilton.

29 Savitri December 18, 2008 at 7:43 pm
