{beaded} gifts

My mom arrived on Sunday and we have been in a blissful state ever since.  It is so wonderful having time to hug each other, chat into the night, and celebrate getting to see each other every morning face to face.  What a luxury!  We have loads planned and I hope to share much of it with you along the way, but for today I have a gift idea that might inspire you to grab some beads and make a few last minute gifts!

I created a beaded ornament by simply stringing beads on a thin wire and wrapping the hanger in floral tape.  Since I had my beads out, I thought a pretty beaded bracelet was a fun little addition as well.  A simple bracelet like this only requires a little jewelry elastic and a few pretty beads!  I love wrapping my gifts, too… It’s one of those few times I hope the recipient will judge the book by it’s cover!

Would you love getting a gift like this?  Do you give handmade gifts, too?  At this time of year you will inevitably find me up late at night with the tv going in the background and some project spread all over the coffee table and couch.  Even though our nights begin around 3 in the afternoon, they still never feel long enough for all the ideas I have flowing through my mind!

Yes, yes, yes, I completely agree. I love wrapping presents, and I always look for cute ideas and new inspiration. A few years ago I started including a handmade gift (usually knits) as a part of my Christmas gifts, and I find that in this day of gift cards, it really adds something special.
Enjoy this time with your mom, and Happy Holidays!

You made one !!! Oh I love it – and your gifts always look (and are) amazing. I rarely make gifts – they are simply not all that good. But I do give my photographs away – they are much more perfected:))
So pleased you guys are having a wonderful time together. I remember when I lived abroad how special it is to come home, or have visitor come over:) Enjoy!!

I love giving handmade gifts. I enjoy making them and being able to share them with others. Unfortunately, I rarely receive handmade gifts or see others give handmade items as gifts. I even have asked relatives for handmade goodies from their kitchen, they are inexpensive and all they really require is time. But no, no one seems to have the time nowadays.
