Some days happiness feels like an illusion… an intangible object dangling just beyond our grasp…
But, really, happiness is not something we must go searching high and low for… It is always staring us right in the face. It is not a thing, but rather a state of being… an attitude of self assessment in which we agree that in spite of everything there is still so much to be thankful for.
We need not recklessly pursue it, happiness, that is, but simply stand still and find it right where we are… Some days that is harder to do, yes, that I can admit, too. But we must fight for it. We must stop and simply be happy for the moment in which we are living… feeling the full width and height of our daily breath… and appreciate every tiny good thing that each day brings…

Bravo! It’s such a simple concept however it takes years to arrive to understanding it. A bit like The Alchemist, there is no need to travel to the end of the world, your treasure and happiness is already right underneath your a$$!
Lovely photos too.

Yes, if you chase happiness it will always allude you! It is a choice one must make everyday! Have a great weekend!
couldn’t agree more. the new year is always a time to reflect a bit on happiness and if we’re hiding from it. weirdly, i stepped into a store yesterday in a rush for find a dress for a wedding in a couple of weeks. No dress but i ended up with two beautiful cookbooks and two books on happiness. maybe i got what i needed afterall.
have you ever read the book ‘the tao of pooh’ by benjamin hoff? i just finished reading it (for the 2nd time) last week, and this post reminded me of what it’s trying to get across to people. i think you’d like it

Happy New Year to you !

True words. Happiness is a choice, not something that happens to us if we run fast enough or work hard enough. It just is.
I wish you a wonderful new year, filled with love and joy. xx
Absolutely…. I’ve been thinking about this lately, too. Find happiness wherever you are…
