house hunting: {sweden}

Have you ever daydreamed of moving to Europe… or better yet, Scandinavia?  I am utterly taken with this beautiful home in Sweden and thought it would be fun to make believe we are house hunting in Sweden for the day!

I love the soft, white light throughout this home and the herbs growing in the kitchen window.  I think I even see a little dishwasher, so I know I could live here!  {smiles}  Three years in Morocco and two in Spain without a dishwasher makes that a priority on my list!

The soft grey on the walls is something I have contemplated for my own home as well.  It is so subtle, don’t you think?

I think the only thing I might change is the flooring… you know I have an affection for herringbone floors or those painted white!  Anyone else ready to pack their bags and head to Sweden?

What are the features in a new home that you just could not live without?  Do you need a bathtub, a walk in closet, or maybe a little patch of dirt for flowers?

Hey hey!
(I think I haven’t commented before but I follow you for quite some time now.)

I would say proper heating.
I would hate to be cold. I have experienced this while living on the north of Spain, I thought well in Spain I couldn’t be cold, but in the winter just below Pyrenees it was horrible.
And a lot of modern houses and apartments in EU today, offer just floor heating, but that is just not enough. ;)

A dishwasher, lots of natural light, at least one large open space/room, and an outdoor access point (balcony or yard) make up my list of must-haves. I often joke that the dishwasher is my favorite appliance, but then I think about the clothes washer, lol!

Funny you should say that—I just submitted my application for a Swedish residency permit this morning and that house looks PERFECT for us ;) .

I love the clean lines of Scandanavian homes. Our bedroom is grey and white and I wish I could redesign our entire apartment to have the same modern feel. I’m packing my bags with you!

I agree – beautiful! We are moving in a few months and I am so inspired by the clean look of this home. Nice eye candy, for sure.

gorgeous home!!! the white remarkabley gives it a cozy and warm feeling!!
Im not so brave…Now that I have a family ofmy own I need to have my family and parents nearby and the language barrier would be tricky although English is universal these days – it would be a wonderful experience! If I had loads of money Id move to London or New York haha…
I did move to the tiny island of Cyprus in my early 20′s and for a few years I had such a great time.

Yes! Constantly! It’s the only Scan. country I’ve traveled, so I’m partial… and one of my closest friends lives there. So, I’ll take it! :) Rick says NO way, not enough sunshine & heat. His Italian heritage calls for sweaty climates. Beautiful shots of such a serene spot. The grey is a really nice change from all the tan & taupe that are typical neutrals. More daydreaming, please!

I LOVE all white and have always dreamed of having a house in white and pale grey, but have all boys so that is a no go. But hey, a girl can dream!

I would love to live in Sweden. It was one place my husband visited often when we lived in Germany but I never had a chance to visit. For fun I recently started learning basic Swedish!

Just in case I ever get a chance to go!
