jancraftenhagen2 Valentine’s Day is coming soon and love is definitely in the air!  Here are some simple and fun ways to bring Valentine’s home this coming week… or any other week when the desire to show your love strikes!

  • Bake a cake and add sprinkles in the shape of a heart!
  • Simple paper hearts adhered to the wall with temporary adhesive makes a grand statement!
  • Why wait for him to bring the flowers?  Treat yourself to a bouquet in advance… because you deserve it!
  • Bake a batch of heart shaped cookies… sharing not required!

Sometimes the simplest expressions of love mean the most!  Just don’t forget the hugs and kisses!

Today I stopped at a neighborhood candy shop to pick up my annual red foil wrapped Madelaine chocolates for Valentine’s Day. The shop owner had only gotten in a small number, and they were sold out! Seems hurricane Sandy shuttered the Rockaway Beach, NY candy company. He said they should be shipping product for Easter. So, we’ll have to “make do” with hand-dipped chocolate covered strawberries from another favorite small local candy shop. Love those traditional special treats!!
