We are in full on party prepping mode with less than ten days until my daughter’s twelfth birthday. After deciding on a theme/color combination, I started shopping in my own home for decorations and supplies that I might already have on hand that would fit the event. I looked in drawers, opened cabinets, and dug to the depths of the closets for anything and everything I thought might work. I put everything together and looked for holes that needed to be filled then started jotting down a list of things that I needed to purchase. This time I needed another cake plate, cupcake liners, sprinkles/edible glitter, and dishes in my color theme.
Yesterday I started setting things up and looking to make sure there wasn’t anything I have forgotten or might want to add. I usually start a new list at this point including last minute things such as flowers, candles and balloons plus anything else that I can now see is missing.
As you can see from the photo above, I have already emptied my cabinet and begun placing things. Although I cannot always prepare this far in advance, I try to as often as possible because once I see how everything is coming together, I tend to find things I need to add to my shopping list and this helps me avoid a last minute panic.
These are the things I have purchased so far:
Are you a list maker, too? How far in advance do you plan for your parties?
Want to see what our birthday girl will be wearing? Or our event mood board?

I am excited to see what your plans are for your daughters birthday as my daughter is turning 12 in May and I have no ideas what to do! Thank you.
Def a planner, love making lists!
Cant wait gor the after party peek!
Love,
I didn’t know H&M had housewares. Love the pink cake platter.
I love lists, and even have paper and pen or sometimes my notebook at my bedside as things always pop into my head before I start counting sheep.
