what {inspires} you

What inspires you to create?  Do you spend days dreaming of colors or perhaps you thumb through design magazines hoping that something will make you lean back and say “ahh, yes!”  I have found myself recently going to new places for inspiration.  I particularly love art and design blogs because they seem to have endless inspiration, not only in colors but in lines and balance.

I find myself gravitating towards crisp white, clean lines, and simplicity that makes my heart pitter patter.  Looking around my house I see these same principles and if I’m perfectly honest, I find it in my wardrobe as well.  Could it be that I am not only finding my personal style, but also a way of life?  I have been known to say, “Keep it simple, Keep it clean, Keep it real.”  So I ask again, What inspires you to create?

First Card details: SU! Cameo Coral & Chocolate Chip, Copic Ciao Cool Shadow, PTI sentiment, personal sketch for Raspberry Suite Color Challenge

I stumbled upon your website off the Kwerner Color Challenge. I have to say that YOU inspire me. Thank you for publicly sharing your adventures & creations. I look forward to everything you post.

In addition, I usually find my best inspiration from whatever happens to be going on in my everyday life at the moment. My son finds an attachment to elephants, I make a card with an elephant. My brother announces a new baby, I make a baby calender. Etc. etc. For me, there is no shortage of inspiration, only time…

I’m with you, simplicity is divine.

Unfortunately, food inspires me. There is nothing better than the joy that comes from a meal well prepared and the satifaction of those who eat it. I think though I need some other inspiration to save my waist line.

Btw, do you mind if I use your shoe card as inspiration for my Nephew’s birth announcement? The layout is perfect for what I had in mind.

Great cards. And I’m with you on the clean lines. I feel like it certainly influences my clothes and decorating style, but when it comes to my cards my style seems to vary by my mood. It’s strange. Thanks for all of the inspiration girl.

I love the white crisp look too. Makes me wanna tidy up in my house, but I’m sure that’ll pass LOL.
Lately for inspiration, we’ve had the Tulip Festival here in Ottawa & it is gorgeous, the whole Nation’s Capital is covered with Flowers. That’s my inspiration this week.

Both are gorgeous!!!! I love the crispness!! I love design/interior design blogs too. They’re soooo fun to look at. I actually only subscribe to a few card/scrapbook blogs — ppl that I got to know through blogesphere. The rest are photography/design/tut blogs.

Love your hand-drawn images on the first card — so modern! I marvel at how much inspiration there can be in the world if we just slow down enough to notice it and enjoy it.
