Reduce, reuse, recycle. It’s something that we are all hearing a LOT lately. I saw this AMAZING tutorial of Geninne handcarving her own stamps, but unfortunately none of those supplies are available here in Morocco. (If I lived in the States I would have run out right THEN and bought up the supplies) but since I could not do that I had to get creative. If you have ever ordered any stamp sets from Stampin’ Up then you likely have the rubber remnants left over. I’ve been saving mine for a while “just in case” I could find some use for them. Well, I was so inspired by Geninne’s stamps that I just pulled out the rubber remnants and a pair of scissors and got to cutting. I had to do simple shapes because it’s kind of difficult to get a clean cut, but I am THRILLED with the result. And Parker was too! I think I’m going to make another one of these and frame it for his room because he begged to have it (and I had already added the sentiment.) After stamping the images I used a Sharpie to draw in the road and outline the buildings and car. You can also see here where I used the car for another project!

very cute. i’m going to go check out the tutorial …
Very cool. Love the Leo Kottke music too.
Since I have all boys and we go to lots of boy birthday parties, I think this will be a perfect card to give and easy enough for this craft handicapped me to make.
Outlining the shapes with a Sharpie is SO brilliant, Tina! This is so sweet. I also save SU! rubber leftovers too.
