I was checking out this post over at Decor8 (which is one of my absolute favorite blogs!) It got me thinking about what my perfect creative space would look like- no limits.

You see, I seem to know more of what I don’t want. Like Martha’s craft room. So boring! It doesn’t look like she’s ever done a creative thing in this room. There is nothing personal about it. I do love that it feels very clean, but again there might be a little mess in there if she actually used it!
I think this craft room is much closer! Oh, and this one is great too!

And this craft room is very cute, but the pink would make me nuts! It’s also a little too messy for my taste.

This is my creative space *hard* at work! I really need to take more photos when it is nice and clean! But I do love the light that comes from the windows. I love that my craft table is the pine table my mother-in-law gave us when we got married. I love that our whole family feels free to create here! Okay, now I totally promise the “clean” version, which will not include me 8 months pregnant!

*Edited to add these photos I found which are posted in our home tour:

But now my question to you is: What craft rooms have you seen that inspire you? Have you seen one that you wish was yours? Leave a link in the comments so we can all see!

No specific room for me! When I used to scrapbook I was most comfortable at the coffee table. I’ve always liked to be around the action instead of tucked away in a room. I only need that when I write. But I don’t scrapbook anymore, and I can knit anywhere (which I do only occasionally). My major crafting these days is woodworking – so I guess my workroom is the garage!
I like the “cute” one. Besides the color I like that everything is in site. Kinda messy but I need in things in view or I forget I have them.
My dream craft room was a pic I found on the web, only it wasn’t a craft room. It was a really large sunroom. My dream room is surrounded by windows with a fireplace on one wall. (My inspiration can be found here: http://dawnmcvey.typepad.com/these_are_a_few_of_my_fav/2008/11/a-holiday-open-house.html )
Okay Tina I will think about this and come back later on and let you know, with a link.
I love your room! I love the windows and the shape! Seems like the perfect place to get creative! I get inspired by a lot of rooms. I guess I haven’t thought of what my perfect room would be like. I don’t see having it anytime in the near future. Stay at home mom with a minister husband… I guess I will be sharing my room with the cats and the extra furniture for a long time! If we are blessed with another child, I will have no craft room! Bitter sweet!
i love your craft room. i´d never leave it! besos-jane
I love your room; especially, all the windows. I would be in there all day. I suppose you can’t turn around your desk because you need to keep an eye on the children, but really it is a fabulous room.
I adore your room!!
Your creative space looks pretty clean to me!
omg
i love so much your criative space!!
if that were at my house, i will spend a lot time in there!!!
I only wish I could have one. I have corners of home transformed in any time in craft rooms. For example I have some tools for leather working under a table near the sofa. I am now sewing a bag for my brother, so while seing tv try to do something.
Thanks for visiting my corner view.

I immediately recognized Heather Bailey’s workspace… very happy and friendly. I agree it might be too pink for me, but it is by far better than the Martha Stewart space… I actually like a little bit of clutter. Your workspace looks great with all the windows. I love natural light and I ejnoy the window wall in my studio. By the way… I have the same lampshade too… great post!
Pottery Barn used to have my perfect room online at one time, but it’s no longer there.
I’ve also always enjoyed Donna’s room: http://donnadowney.typepad.com/photos/inside_the_studio/index.html
It just seems fun.
Um, your room truly inspires me! What a view and the built in bookcases…lovely!
What amazing windows you have! I love the space. I am in the process of re-organizing my studio, but can’t seem to decide. I am torn from wanting the light coming from behind me and wanting to be able to stare out the window all day.
