I have had quilts on the brain lately. Hailey begged me to make a quilt with her as our summer project so I spent a few hours researching fabric and what kind of quilt we wanted… striped, blocked, hexagon… Let me assure you, we will NOT be attempting the hexagon style. Have you seen how much work goes into one of those?? We will be going basic. Very basic. BUT. That doesn’t mean we cannot do hexagons on a card, right?
I started with Kristina’s colors from her recent color challenge and off I went with my hexagon punch by Creative Memories. I tried finding something comparable to my hexagon punch but I didn’t have any luck. Does anyone have a die cut machine that does a hexagon maybe? You could also check on Ebay!
Also, if you are participating in the Traveler’s Inspiration Challenge there is still one day left! You can also check out the AMAZING entries that have been submitted! Seriously, I have a dream team of ladies playing along!
I have another photo for you all tomorrow and I cannot wait to show you! I find myself wanting to blabber about it right now, but I’ll save that for tomorrow! Hope you have a Happy Thursday!

too cute !
what a super sweet card…fabulous….good luck on the quilt!
Tina, what a cool card! I’m still struggling with both challenges, Kristina and yours…
And about the quilt: have a look at Lisa Tutman Oglesby’s blog, she’s like a quilting goddess but has some simple and beautiful designs too. Maybe you already know the blog but if not, it’s worth a look (she also scraps, sews… lots of projects and well explained).
Besos!
What a cute card! I, too, would love to make a quilt sometime. I’ve saved all of my favorite outfits that my boys wore between birth and age 2 that I would love to cut up for that purpose. But I don’t sew well (oh, you mentioned you dont’ either, right?), and we’re still hoping for a number 3, and who knows if it would be another boy, so I’m still waiting on starting it. Probably not much longer tho. I’m not gettin’ any younger!
Wow! This is a gorgeous card! I love the hexagons!
This is beautiful. I LOVE quilts, my grandmother’s quilts were so heavy & I loved sleeping under them & seeing your old dresses in the pattern. She made them constantly & I attempted once, but ended up just making a “small throw”, cause it was just so much work. I realized then, that I had to work on my patience.
It would be good to do with your daughter, lots of 1-on-1 time.
This is so cool!
Hi Tina! This is so cute and creative! Love that quilt/honeycomb look! Great job on the challenge
this ROCKS!!
Hey Tina,
What cool things you have been creating lately. I absolutely LOVED your video and the calendar was so cool I want to incorporate it into a class! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. Have a great day. Oh! Almost forgot, your photos of yourself and children have always been adorable but to see you “live” has been a real treat and you are in animation really “adorable”
Very very cute! I tried this quilting technique on a card last winter, and LOVED it. IT is fun. I used just squares LOL! Have a great weekend.

Very cute card – I knew I needed to get that punch!
I just love your card – next to papercrafting, quilting is a really big passion of mine. I used to make baby quilts for all my friend’s children. Some of them still have them now as wallhangings or as the covers for floorcushions. Please keep us posted on this project! Jo x
