I woke up early this morning before anyone else and no matter how hard I tried to fall back asleep, my thoughts drifted to all the things I needed to do today. I finally gave up trying to go back to sleep, which was just as well because Landon woke up almost as soon as my feet slid into my sequined slippers (mine are lime!)
Then the doorbell started ringing as a few Moroccans made their rounds to ask for sadaka (an offering that Muslims make after Ramadan as a way of earning ager, or “points” in heaven.) Today is the Aede Sgeere, the first day of celebration after Ramadan has ended.
I was reminded of the final Break Fast we celebrated here in Morocco after our first Ramadan. You can go here if you want to check it out! This year we celebrated with a group of our friends in the mountains. None of us even minded that it was a bit colder than we expected.
We said good-bye to one of my husband’s friends who will be returning to the States soon and wrote him a little note in the card above. I made it using the colors from the Polka Dot Paradise Challenge. I amazed even myself that I used polka dots on a guy card… I don’t think it looks girly at all, do you?
Also, I wanted to send you all over to Digiments. It is a wonderful digital stamp company and the lovely Michelle has very graciously offered to donate 50% of all sales for this release to He{art} for Morocco. Not only that, but she has all kinds of giveaways and challenges planned. Please stop by and support her as she gives back to our cause so generously!
Mabaruk l’Aede to my Moroccan friends! (A well wish for the holiday!)

Today is the 2nd day of Ramadhan in Malaysia. The way the Muslims in Malaysia celebrate Ramadhan is totally different from Moroccans.
