guest {designer} for Scarlet Lime

Thank you all so very, very much for all your well wishes, thoughts, and prayers for our little guy.  His surgery went very well yesterday and he is up and running around, though a little slower than normal.  It’s so hard watching our little ones be in pain!

I’m cheering myself up today by sharing some exciting news with you all today!  When Christy approached me about being this month’s Guest Designer for Scarlet Lime I got SO excited!  I have admired Scarlet Lime for years but it was so hard to get anything shipped to Morocco so I had to be an admirer from a distance.

page22I signed up just before we got back to the States so each month it is like receiving a little party in the mail!  Seriously, Christy puts together an AMAZING kit each month and her designers will blow your socks off with their projects!  So, to be May’s Guest Designer is an incredible honor for me!

You can go to the Scarlet Lime website for more information on monthly subscriptions and if you click here it will take you directly to the gallery where more of my projects and the other designers’ projects are featured.

Don’t you just love all these colors together?  The kit comes with everything you need to put together loads of projects, such as patterned paper, buttons, trim, rub ons, letters, clear stamp, and lots of other goodies.  Putting together several pages took no time at all because I already had all the pieces in front of me!

page3

Of course, with moving on the brain, I had to scrapbook it!  Each of the little strips are distressed to give it a little more dimension.  The journaling says: “New friends, new language, new foods… and a whole new life awaits us on the other side of our move.  Normally all those things give me little chills of excitement, but every now and then I get totally freaked out!”

page9

I couldn’t help but scrapbook this sweet photo of our littlest Tribesman.  I quilled the paper to form a little caterpillar accent.  Isn’t he so cute?

page5

I took a close up so you could see him a little better.  The journaling reads: “It was not enough for you to learn how to slide down the slide, but you you also learned how to climb up.  I guess that is what happens when when you have a big brother and sister to teach you how things are done at the playground.”

page11And just so our little caterpillar wouldn’t feel lonely, I made him a friend that went on this super quick card made from some of my left over scraps.  Would you all be interested in seeing a little video tutorial on how to use quilling in your paper projects?

A big thanks again to Christy at Scarlet Lime for the incredible honor!

Oh, so lovely!!! Congratulations on the Guest Designer for SL! So awesome! I’m also so glad to hear your little one is recovering nicely–I didn’t realize he was due for a surgery, having my nose down to the grindstone of late. Wishes for a continued speedy recovery!
