They said it was an illusion.  They said it would wear off.  In some ways they were right.

scrap4They didn’t hold hands us much, but that was mostly because they were either pushing a pram or holding the hand of the smaller folks.  And maybe they didn’t look at each other with those adoring eyes quite as often either.  But that tended to be because their eyes were busy watching the ball they were throwing or the checking out the latest and greatest tree house made from a broom and a piece of string.

scrap2Maybe they were right.  It wasn’t the same as it was all those years ago when it was just them and their love.  But while it might be different, it was also stronger.  It had been tested… over and over… and they were still absolutely certain.  Love was still there and it was longer and wider and higher than anything they could have formerly imagined.

While us paperlovers appreciate such a gorgeous layout and us readers appreciate your wonderful words & perspective, I’ll bet your treasured smaller tribesmen will appreciate these stories so very much when they are grown and raising their own families. :>

WOW i needed that!! I reminder, that our married life is different, it’s felt like all mum and dad and no US lately (i guess that comes with having a 7month old) but you’re totally right, we are closer, we have been stretched and tested and our love is stronger than it’s ever been!! Ohhh how i love your stories, your perceptive, your wonderful look into the world around you!!
Missed chatting to you more lately!! (again another thing that a gorgeous little baby brings… not much time to blog!! he he :)
