The truth is that we really are not house hunting, but this week we are studying how Moroccans live. Where do they live? How do they choose their houses? There has been this question kind of nagging in the back of my mind that I have been dying to understand… where do the rich people live and what do their houses look like?
Now before you judge me, let’s remember that there is a reason for shows like the “Rich and Famous” and “Cribs.” I’m not the only one curious and I’m willing to bet that some of you would love more sneak peeks as well. Am I right?
So, today Kautar and I went for a walk around town. I’ve seen some of the opulent homes, but today I wanted a glimpse of apartments and boy, oh, boy, did I ever get a look! My only regret is not bringing my camera. (Shucks, I guess that gives me an excuse to go back!)
Marble entry way, three marbled bathrooms, granite counter tops, double sided fireplace… okay, one minute into the tour I’m already packing my bags! Lovely views of the city, spacious kitchen with a place for a dishwasher (the luxury!), a laundry room (oh, how I miss mine!), multiple pantries, electric blinds… Be still my heart! But, oh, agony, none of them are for rent! Perhaps I could check back?
A couple of our American friends are opening a cooking school for foreigners to come and learn how to cook Moroccan delicacies. Wouldn’t you love to come visit for a week and learn to cook many unique dishes? I’m ready to sign up myself! But, they are still on the hunt for the perfect house with just the right kitchen. I just happened to mention the apartments I saw today and they are going this afternoon to check them out. I can already smell the tagine and couscous!

Nice! In the land of goats outside the internet cafe, I was surprised it is also so fancy-schmancy! Morocco is just full of surprises!
I have to admit, I am one of those who is curious about how the rich live too, especially in some place like Morocco. I would love to see the inside of one of those apartments!
O.K., so I know that the sites are even more beautiful in person. My mouth dropped to the floor at the site of the big white, um, can you call that a house? More like a Church, Museum, – all I can say is WOW. I think I would be a little too intimidated to even walk through the doors. I love looking at the world through the lens of your camera. Great pics my Friend!
