Be my Valentine

by Tina on February 15, 2008

Overly ambitious.  That should have been my first name.  When I volunteer for something I always take on way too much.  Thankfully this time wasn’t too bad.  Just a couple hours baking 100 cupcakes for Hailey and Parker’s school. Yes, they have big classes, but since Hailey doesn’t attend the Islamic classes instead she goes to another classroom to catch some more French.  Add in curious teachers and office staff and pretty soon I’m up to my eyeballs in cupcakes!

I had fun distributing the cupcakes and reading a Valentine’s book to the kids.  Hailey made a Valentine for each of her friends too!

Aren’t they so cute?  They really got a kick out of this strange holiday that roughly translates to the “holiday of love.”

After Hailey’s class I headed over to Parker’s class in the preschool.  Everyone seemed to really enjoy the special treat (the teachers even bought me a bouquet of roses to thank me today!)

With just enough time to get to my Arabic class I quickly grabbed a taxi, but after class Jack surprised me with the most amazing box of chocolates and a double date with a couple of our American friends.  It was really sweet of him!

How did you all celebrate Valetine’s Day??
