Wasabi with a splash of Guava

by Tina on March 19, 2008

Sounds almost like something to eat, doesn’t it?  I’ll have a little wasabi with a splash of Guava please!  Add a little blush blossom and pinch of saffron and voila!  Well, today all I have for you are two cards that I made using those colors, which I found through the Color Inspiration on Kristina’s blog.  Maybe some other day I’ll throw all that in a pan and see what happens.  LOL!

I kind of struggled through this color combination because I have very limited supplies in these colors.  I don’t have two of the inks, but with a little creativity I pulled this card together.

This second card I made while listening to my Arabic CD.  I was planning on going to Arabic class today, but as the kids and I approached the school we realized that apparently someone had forgotten to send us a memo.  No school.  Hmph.  Well, plan B went into action and the kids and I happily walked home (I won’t tell you which one of us had the happier skip in our step!  TeeHee!)  Again, this card was made with limited supplies, but my chipboard saved me… though filing down all those little grooves seems to take an eternity!  But it’s all worth it when I step back and look at the finished product.  What do you think?

I followed the link you posted on Kristina’s blog- your cards are lovely! I like how you used wild wasabi as the main color. Very pretty.

I, too, followed the link from kristina’s blog on color inspiration and LOVE your cards. I’m desperately trying to find which designer paper you used with the So Saffron color….of course I want some!!! Can you let me know?

Again, beautiful job!!

**Thank you all for your sweet comments! The DP that is almost a perfect match to So Saffron is by Scenic Route Paper. I bought it from Eclectic Paperie (see side bar for link) but they no longer have it. It is called “River Walk” in the Laurel collection. I found it at http://www.amillionlittlethings.com for only $.70! You can also check out http://www.scenicroutepaper.com for more store locations.
Hugs! Tina

Another Kristina fan. :) Love your site and your creativity! Both of these cards are fabulous. I love the combo of colors, layouts and finished results. I loved your Cree Sto Sta Nesti! entry, it brought back wonderful memories of our holiday in Greece. What I wouldn’t give for a delicious Greek meal. :) Keep those wonderful creative juices going. Smiles from Malaysia!
