About {Me}

Greetings! I am the Traveling Mama, the wife and mother of three kids (also known as the Traveling Tribe.) We are on an exciting journey around the world!
Creativity is at the very heart of our little Tribe and we believe that the world is like a fine piece of art, meant to be savored and explored. Here at Traveling Mama, we tend to chit chat about stamps, photos, decor, and anything else I can add paper to! And we do it all while traveling the world!
We just finished packing up our entire house in Morocco. We are enjoying some time with our family in the States before we head to our new home: Denmark!
How this traveling mom earned her wings:
Our adventure began in 2002 when we moved to Spain for two years. Our first child, Hailey, was ten months old at the time. When we flew home in 2004, it was her 25th flight and I was no longer enthusiastic about traveling with a kid.
So, we moved back to the States, bought a house, and began our pursuit of “The American Dream.” We had it all… well, except maybe the white picket fence, but we realized soon after settling in that we had yet to sow our wild oats. So, once again we packed up and moved to Morocco, which is where we lived for three years, and began our blogs.
Our little Traveling Tribe is on the move once again. This time we are heading for Copenhagen, Denmark but we are taking a little time in the States to enjoy spending time with our families while we prepare all the paperwork necessary to move to another country!

Hi Tina! I was so excited to see this site! Me and the boys have been admiring the beautiful pictures. We’re so glad everyone is settled and healthy now!
Hey Tina,
I just followed the link from the TAG!! Actually I know I’ve seen your posts before, and usually I try to check out someone’s blog if they post, but I don’t think I had been to yours before. (I’m such a bad blogger) I love your samples, but I’ve really been enjoying reading about you and your family and your home. How long does it take to get your stamps in Morocco??! I’ll respond to the tag tonight I hope
ok, so without having to read all of your blogs to figure it out….WHY are you in Morocco? Not, to ask a silly question or anything, lol. And how long are you staying?
thanks,
cyndi
I love your site. You bring so much into your blog. Not only cards you have made but I especially like the information on your life oveseas. Greek food is my all time favorite food.
You are truly an inspiration to everyone around the world.

Hi Tina,
I have really enjoyed reading you!! My husband and I and our two boys (aged 4 and 2) are going to move to Marrakech from Switzerland and I would love to get as much info as possible on life as a foreign woman in Marrakech and life with a family in Marrakech … Where do you send your kids to school, have you found a good peadiatrician, how are the hospitals, which ua a good neighbourhood to live in (renting flat or house), what kind of budget do you need on a monthly basis to live decently… do you (dare) drive in Marrakech… etc… etc…
We are buying a Riad in the Medina and are going to renovate it in view of making it into a guest house. My husband has trained as an architect and we have a renovating real estate / interior decorating business here in Switzerland. We got married in Marrakech last July and absolutely fell in love with it… hence the decision to move to Morocco for an exciting new adventure. We have lived abroad before (I was born in Zimbabwe, lived in Switzerland, Hong Kong, Philippines, Paris and London and my husband lived in Madagascar and London).
Would love to hear from you if you get the chance.
Many thanks in advance for your reply and many thanks for your blog. It’s great. You are very talented.
Kind regards,
Tanya
Hi Tina,
Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog, a stamper always loves to hear what others think of their work.
Love your blog adventures, too! It sounds like my kind of life!

I think I’ve read through most of your blog. I’d love to know why you are living in Morooco. Is stamping much of a hobby there? I’m impressed that you are making so many things from scratch out of necessity. I really think it is healthier. Good for you!
Debbie
Great card again this week. Wow, I had no idea you live in Morocco. Is it everything you hoped it to be?? I hope so.
Your pictures are beautiful… with an expanding BABY BUMP of my own, (24weeks now) I love hearing and reading how other beautiful pregnant women are going.
xx Sarah
Hi Tina,
Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog! I wanted to get back to you about your question on the watermark. I had Beth Saliaka design my watermarks for a minimal fee. Her site is http://freckledandfun.blogspot.com/. Then, I use my photo editing software (Picture It) I take the following steps: open photo, click edit button, click to add something (add photo), decrease the size of watermark and move, save. Beth is great about walking you through the steps like this also. Hope this helps!

Hi Tina,
Paula here from Precioso Designs in Australia.
I was wondering if you would like to promote a new challenge I am running on my blog. My son wanted there to be a kids only card making challenge so I have created one for him and I know he would love to see cards made by kids from all over the world and I thought your blog would be a great place to promote it.
He has also sadi that he wanst to tecah other kids how to make a card, so we will be posting a lesson by him at some stage, should be very cute!
Thanks and of course I love reading your blog.
Paula
Tina,
I am so much older than you, but when my forth child was six weeks old we moved to Indonesia. We lived there 4 1/2years. Since that time, we lived in Nigeria, Holland, Scotland, and Saudi, with brief stays in different states in the US. My children are all grown now, my youngest will be 26 January 1. I am in Colorado, but I fear I will have to move one more time as the winter’s just get too cold. If you ever want anything mailed to you all you have to do is e-mail me. I loved the adventure when I was younger, and was so naive that we enjoyed each country for what it had to offer. My dad was in Morocco during WWII, I have only seen his black and white pictures. Enjoy your traveling. Have a wonderful Christmas and may there be peace within our lifetime!
Hi Tina! It’s Lisa from the LA team. Just got back to LA.
Thanks again for everything during our visit- I really appreciated it. Your bargaining skills were impressive.
And, that cake- Oh my goodness- I loved it so much I am actually baking one right now as I had to share the yumminess with my hubby! (We’ll see if it turns out the same or not though!)
Blessings!
What a wonderful card and such an interesting blog.
Love your site. We have a mutual friend who linked me to your site. We will be spending some time in your host country and I am very interested in chatting with you via email about clothing specifically as I am planning to revamp my wardrobe based on our time in country this next year. I would love to know your suggestion for where to shop etc. Thanks so much!
I just found your site thru KWerner. I am a travelling mama, too. Moved to Croatia in 1998 (pre-kids) from Los Angeles. I’m out of language school now, but still have lots to learn. I do papercrafts to relax, esp during the cold, winter months. I grew up in an island, then moved to LA, so it’s a big change living here, but we love it. Croatia’s beautiful! I’ll be coming to visit your blog often. I just love your style.
I just found you from Amanda’s blogspot page. I will be back. I already went and ordered your cookbook as soon as I read your blog about it. My husband is Moroccan and will eat anything I cook for him, but whenever I am able to cook foods from home he eats those with a little more appetite.
We hope to move to Morocco someday ourselves, so reading your blogs might help me prepare for that. Thanks for sharing your life.
Tina, thanks so much for my Moroccan goodies! It was so very sweet of you. I especially love the postcards. A friend will be going to Morocco this fall with a small group of folks to do some nursing and I plan to use those to send her notes of encouragement along the way.
Shukran,
Donna
Your blog is such an interesting and inspiring place to visit! Thank you!
Hello again TIna, Yes i’ve been brousing round all your blog, i’ve been interested who this lovely lady is that keeps leaving wonderful comments on my blog!! SO thanks!!

Love your blog, have to add it to my places that i go!! Thanks for all your wonderful photo’s and spinets to your life!!
Smiles Sharnee :0)
Cool blog, I follow the blogs of a few expats. Couldn’t leave a comment on your PTI creations, don’t twitter, but great creativity. Sorry to hear about the little relative who passed away.
I love your card! I’m a seamstress at heart. Fine baby clothes are my specialty but when I saw your Quilt Card I was thrilled. You are right a Quilt w hexagon (Grandmothers Flower Garden) would not b the first you would want to tackle. Although if you want to have something to do little by little and not get in a hurry then it’s fun to do. Get you a basket and collect fabrics, then have fun hand piecing all those hexagons. (A great travel quilt).
I am new to your site, and I love it, mainly for all the goodness and joy I see in it, and then of course, for the courage you have to travel the world with your tribe. Blessings and happy travels!
Tina: I get a lot of enjoyment from your site, for many reasons: you post often, you include gorgeous photos with your engaging text, you write about things that are dear to your heart, you write WITH heart, and you help us to see a lot of beauty in things that are often taken for granted, but which have so much value, like making a home. Thanks for what you do.
Hi Tina,
I some how happened upon your blog while I was taking an impromptu stroll through Danish blogs…and wanted to say hello!
My children(3)and I moved to Denmark in 2008, to live with my Danish husband and step-children(3). It has been a good experience, and we have found that the Danish people are kind, caring and have strong family ties and traditions. I have to say…that really, in Denmark, like any other place on earth, you will get what you look for! From your blog…I am sure that you will experience good things here too! Welcome!
All the best – Monica
What a wonderful blog! I will certainly come back for your pictures, your toughs, your art and your adventures.
I love this photo of you! You’re such a true beauty inside and out-I feel like I can say that having met you @ CHA, so glad I did! You’re so sweet and you have such a unique style that I adore!
Tina I just love reading about how, what, where, why and whats next. You guys are just plain neat to follow and, as I told Jack prior, I wish I had more time to get to know you all better in Atlanta before we left for Ohio in 2001. Life goes one. Thanks for sharing, I love following you all.
Mark

Hey Girl!
I just got a message from USA Reunited saying that you sent me a message. I am cheap and don’t have a paid membership to the site, so I can’t log on to see what you have said. Thought I would hop on here and get in touch with you this way!
What’s going on? Feel free to e-mail me anytime at LisaKMueller@hotmail.com. We have a lot of catching up to do (again!)!
I am in school now…full-time at Liberty…online majoring in Christian Counseling! Doing well so far, but History is NO FUN when you’re our age!
Hope to hear from you soon!
Love & Hugs In Christ,

Hi I just found your page from the expat blog. I think it’s cool that your family can just pick & move whenever you feel! Oh I wish I could do that as well. I’m jealous so I will live vicariously through your blog.
I’m a New follower!
