A Color Trend Forecast You Don’t Want to Miss

We are packing our bags for a quick two week trip to the US and that has me thinking about design in my home state of Georgia.  Generally speaking, Americans are pretty bold when it comes to their color choices, using shades of deep navy, stark black, and nearly every variety of grey, especially in comparison to Scandinavians who tend to paint their walls white.  This trend in the US might be one of the reasons that I came home after our six month stint and needed some color in my home.  I missed it!

But when I saw these breathtaking images from the Spring 2015 Color Trend Forecast from Dulux I immediately thought of my mother-in-law who has a particular affection for deep, dark browns.  Dulux is a leading paint manufacturer in Australia and NZ and between the colors, the styling by Bree Leech, and photography by Lisa Cohen I am sold and could not wait to share this with you.

I did notice that the floors are white, a little nod to Scandinavian modernism and something I personally am very familiar with, but the eclectic use of vintage and modern pieces really makes this color trend forecast right on for Spring Down Under and Fall for us up North.   Bring on the earthy browns with green and black accents!
