A Home with the Most Amazing Floors & Ceiling

I have realized that despite my greatest efforts to become a true modern design fanatic, there is a great part of me that has the deepest affection for the historical, the traditional, and the glamorous.  What I love so much about this home, which I photographed a few days ago, is that it blends all those passions seamlessly.  The home boasts the most serene atelier/garden room that literally made my breath catch in my chest when I first entered.  What a lovely and charming way to be greeted every time you come home!  With a modern kitchen with gorgeous black and white checkered floors, I was only falling deeper in love with this property and then I turned the corner and saw the living rooms with the most amazing floors and ceilings, dating back to it’s origins of the early 1800’s… I think a died a little.

Oh, and did I mention that this home is located in Frederiksberg, one of the most sought after areas near/around Copenhagen?  The tenants, a French family, will be moving on soon, but I have a feeling that this home is going to be snatched up quickly and to become the city retreat for a new family very soon!

Beautiful!! I love the floors & ceiling. (But the kitchen leaves me cold — it is jarringly modern & out of place, in my opinion.) Thank you for sharing it.

If it was mine, I would style the kitchen differently and I think that would help pull it back to the rest of the home!

I think they were on a work visa here and have completed their contract. It’s definitely the kind of place you want to stay a while in!
