There are so many wonderful places to eat at in Copenhagen, but one that you absolutely must visit is Almanak, the brainchild of the rightfully well known chef, Claus Myer.  You will find Almanak inside The Standard building, which contains several restaurant choices within, and though each one is well worth trying, Almanak is a great place to grab a casual lunch or dinner.  Focused on the principle of eating food at it’s peak ripeness, the menu choices are based on what is grown in Denmark, are currently in season, while also adding an interesting twist to well loved traditional Danish dishes.

We visited recently for lunch and were delighted with the atmosphere and the artful plating of our food.  The staff is so friendly, the kitchen open, and the waterfront view unbeatable.  Oh, yes, and the focus on good design goes beyond the plate to include some of my personal favorite designers, including Gubi and Muuto.  Almanak definitely gets our seal of approval!

We wanted to try Almanak the last time we visited Copenhagen but we didn’t have enough time: so many wonderful places to eat, so little time 😉 But we will grab a bite there in our next visit for sure!
