I love to dress up and go out, but oftentimes when I am blogging from home or working on a project, you are more likely to find me in a pair of jeans and a simple top.  I don’t wear much jewelry and if the weather is permitting, I might even be barefoot.  There is something so satisfying about being in a comfy pair of jeans and a casual top, don’t you think?  This week I have been obsessively wearing my new European “Relaxed” Jean, which by US standards would still be considered skinny, but I love that they are a cross between the boyfriend jean and my latest jeggings because I have yet to find a pair of non-disastrous boyfriend jeans.  Maybe some of you have some recommendations?

I know a lot of bloggers say that they blog in their pj’s, but I tend to be popping in and out of the house most of the day, picking up and dropping off kids, so I have to put something on.  I know it’s superstitious of me, but I’m too afraid I will be in an accident the one time I decide to drive the kids to school in my bathrobe!  I always wear makeup and cute undies, too… but you probably don’t want to know that much about me!  I just think that a girl has to be prepared!  Plus, I just feel so much better when I get up, work out, and get dressed for the day.

What about you?  If you have a day at home, do you like to get dressed or stay in your pj’s?  Do any of you bloggers hang in your pj’s while blogging?

Well, you have inspired me for the day. I too often stay in my pajamas if I can AT ALL get away with it; however, I also have kids to fetch and drive around so usually by noon, I look relatively put together. As far as jeans: I debate between True Religion (the ones that are plain and don’t have the bling-ey seams) and Joe’s Jeans; both brands have that casual, boyfriend look, but still look good on a woman’s figure.

Totally non-related question: how is your Morroccan wedding blanket holding up? I am thinking of using one in a client’s vacation rental, but need to know if it’s hardy.

As always, thanks for the morning reading. Always fun and inspiring!

Mine is not so hardy. The sequins keep falling off, but it was the only one I could find in the market at the time so I bought it so I could have something. The better ones are the vintage kind, but the obviously cost a lot more.

I’m sitting in my PJs right now reading blogs ;) Haha. But it depends… If I know I have the whole day at home without any plans outside, I can easily spend the day in my most comfortable clothes (sweatpants and a loose sweater), but if I know I have to get outside at some point – working, classes at uni, buying groceries etc – I enjoy getting ready and well dressed from the morning. And I do feel more productive (and less lazy) when dressed well and from the early morning, but some days relaxed clothes are just the only right thing, haha :)

I relish the days when I can truly just stay at home and stay in my pj’s and not wear makeup but those days are very rare. Sometimes I try to plan them!

I will preface this by saying I do rarely work out of my home. I travel to work everyday and most often it is to a client site, so dressing to impress is a necessity. That said, when I do work from home, I take the opportunity to lounge in comfortable clothes all day, just because it is such a rarity. However on the weekends, I do make it a point to get up, shower, put on some nice clothes, etc. I feel so much better prepared for the day and like you mention – I would probably die if I saw someone I knew on the street when I’m running errands, looking like a disheveled mess. Getting dressed just makes me feel so much more productive on my non-work days.

Love your blog! Keep the awesome posts coming.

You look adorable in this. This outfit, however, would be “dress up and go out” here in Colorado — the cute blouse in particular. Ha. I miss Europe.

Beautiful! I wish I looked that good while lounging around at home. I’m a sweats kind of girl when I am at home.
