I am always on the hunt for cute packaging when I give gifts and I especially love when I can create something that can be used again and again by the recipient. These chalkboard jars are a fun way to give a gift that can then be repurposed in the office for rubber bands and paper clips or in the bathroom for cotton balls and gummy vitamins!
To create your own Chalkboard Jars, use jars you have on hand or purchase new ones at your local craft supply store. You will also need chalkboard paint, a paint brush, and a pencil with a new eraser if you want to add the polka dots.
Paint the lid of your jar. Mine took three coats and I allowed each coat to dry before I added a new one.
To create polka dots, gently dip your eraser in the paint and dab it onto the jar. (These would also be cute painted half way with the chalkboard paint, striped, or even with a painted label on the front!)
Allow the paint to dry and then fill with fun candies or even cute office supplies! Write a message on the lid to personalize your design! I love these Chalkboard Jars so much that I may have to make a set for the kitchen for my spice jars!
