A Dressed Up Valentines Day Look

This year our kids are on winter break for Valentine’s Day so we decided to celebrate a little early with just the two of us.  Normally I play it pretty casual, but this year I decided to go for a more dressed up Valentine look.  I fell in love with this stunning LBD from COS and paired it with two layers of fur because sometimes more is more.  A vintage inspired wool hat rather than a winter beanie added a little glamour while keeping me perfectly warm as we dashed out for a little afternoon lunch together.

It felt prime evil to leave our work behind for a few hours and gaze into each other’s eyes, but that is just what you have to do to keep love afloat year after year.  It can be easy with a busy life full of kids, work, and all of life’s activities to forget each other but every now and then we need to dress up and run away for a bit to remember to see each other and take time for love.  We have been married for almost 15 years, and together for more than 17, and I am continually amazed by how wonderful it is to love and be loved so wholeheartedly.

What is your perfect Valentine’s Day look?  Do you prefer to dress up or dress down?

I am so jealous that you can look that good OUTSIDE! I mean, it even looks like you have very thin/no stockings on! I would be wearing my parka, goofy hat and SNOW PANTS ;) Congrats on 17 years! It is a lot of work to keep a marriage going strong so hats off to both you and your hub! Love the love- you guys deserve it!

Thank you and I would be in my snow pants if I was going to play in the snow, but for a quick dash I was warm enough. :-)

Sorry for not being clearer…. it is so cold here that the snow pants would be my date clothes ;)

Thank you. We really do feel blessed. I hope we get to have many, many more years together. I know I would be lost without him.
