embellish magazine: {music}

The sewing machine was sitting on the table along with some scrapbook materials I had been working on.  Little wheels started turning in my mind and I wondered what that cute pink ribbon would look like on a shirt.  After browsing through my Traveling Girl’s wardrobe, I came across this unadorned white shirt and decided to see what would happen.  Not only was I pleased, but so was my Girl. I made one for myself too, but I will have to share those photos later!

A sweet photo like this needed a place of honor, so I decided to use this week’s Embellish Challenge as my inspiration.

Though they are subtle, there are tiny music notes in several places on my layout.  The butterflies were stamped on to berry sorbet paper, then trimmed and distressed.  Do you see the little music notes in the background as well?

The butterflies, notes, and this sweet bird all came from Heart Song, a stamp set by Skipping Stones Designs.  (Who also happens to be our sponsor this week as well!)

I added in a bunch of my faves by American Crafts, Crate Paper, Basic Grey, and Stampin’ Up!.  I may be partial, but I really like the way it all came together.  This little Traveling Girl really does make my heart sing!  She is one special girl!

Here is the inspiration for our challenge.  The macaron photo can be found in our Flying House Etsy shop if anyone is interested.  I hope this photo and the addition of music will get your creative juices flowing just as it did for me!  Please stop by the Embellish Magazine blog for the rest of the details!

We will be on our way back home to Copenhagen today and I look forward to catching up with you all on Monday!

Oh Tina, so sweet and beautiful… both H and the layout!! I am loving birds this spring, and have some great papers. Nine (well, almost 10!) is such a special age. Still so young, yet we see the adolescent coming soon. Happy Friday!

What a beautiful layout, Tina! I love the distressed butterflies and your daughter’s photo is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your creativity with Embellish!

Oh so beautiful! That photo is incredible (although all your photographs are!). I love how you trimmed the bird off the branch for your layout, too. I never would have thought to do that. So thrilled to be on this team with you!
