Maybe it is my southern roots, but my family always dressed up for Easter and having a beautiful Easter dress for the girls and ties for the boys was a special tradition in our family. I seem to remember my mom even wearing a hat or two over the years. In an effort to keep some of my own traditions, I thought it would be nice to get the family dressed up and snap a few photos.
A simple enough task, right?
Clearly, this whole photo thing was not going the way I imagined. First, I had to bribe them into wearing their ties…
Then I got one kid smiling, one looking very aggravated with the whole thing, and the third looking… ummm… perplexed.
Things started going downhill quickly. This is their response to our request to “look alive!” We get a lot of complaints from their grandparents about their lack of smiles in photos. See? We tried!
Our twelve year old took this one…
And in the end, this was the best we could do with a tripod and a camera remote. But, that is life isn’t it? Unstaged, messy, a little crazy at times, but perfectly imperfect!
Will you be celebrating Easter this year? Do you get dressed up?
