Hopefully while you are reading this we are either on an airplane heading to the US or getting settled in and catching up with our family!  So without further delay:

It all began with a quick click on a link over at Apartment Therapy.  I nearly gasped when I saw Lisa Congdon’s beautiful home and her lovely collection of enamelware.

I found myself drooling over her canisters and bowls and immediately set out to research the vintage modern design.  I quickly discovered that Catherineholm has been around since the 1960’s and there is even an entire Flickr group dedicated to her simple Norwegian enamelware.

I began to imagine starting my own collection and found Ebay, Etsy, and shops like H is for Home to have many options to choose from.

Since I’m still catching up on Dottie Angel, I missed this lovely post.  Otherwise I might have begun my research a few months ago!

I liked to imagine myself walking into my neighborhood thrift store and walking directly to the perfect little gem.  Perhaps I would find a turquoise canister that said “tea” in which I would store our favorite mango tea from a shop we discovered in the Les Halles Forum in Paris.  I would place in on our shelf above our kitchen sink and smile at it daily… not while washing dishes, mind you.  Oh no!  It would be just me and my hot cup of tea looking out the window while watching the kids make a snow family.

What about you?  Do you love Catherineholm’s designs and pieces?  Which one would you choose?  How could you incorporate her designs into your creative endeavors?

Goodness me aren’t these wonderful Tina! take a look at this blog:
Jane is currently in the middle of a house move, but if you scroll back through her blog, and visit her shop, you will see lots of colour… and a Scandinavian influence or two! Jo x

Oh I love it, but well you know me I love neutral and neutral in my house. That sounds so boring, but I think I make it work with the right textures. Anyways, what I do love is the graphic shapes and clean lines… totally me.

LOVE those colours and design – it would be great but I love the white walls etc to go with it which I can’t have here…they would turn red with all the red dust…but I can dream…maybe I could just corner off a section of the house for it to be shown….knowing me I would find a way!
