Let’s Keep Summer Alive

I know in many parts of Europe, August is a vacation month, but for many parts of the US and Denmark kids are already back in school or getting ready to start this coming week.  I feel like our summer was cut short… I swear there was a little black rain cloud following us from Denmark, to France, to Switzerland, and then to Atlanta!  I’m not ready to bid summer and all it’s glorious sunshine farewell just yet and I hope you are not either!

We hope to spend a little more time soaking up some rays by the pool and then we are packing our bags and heading for Charleston!  I absolutely cannot wait to share more from one of our favorite cities in the world, but before I get too excited, let me share a quick and casual pool ready look with you.  I cannot stop wearing this gauzy tank that I found at Pieces in Denmark.  It goes perfectly with a tight black mini skirt but it is also quick and easy to throw over a bathing suit while running to the pool.

I also have discovered this really amazing long lasting lipstick by NYC.  I actually went to Target to buy another shade of the NYC nail polish (something else I highly recommend!) and an adorable blond gal happened to be standing near the display and was kind enough to tell me how much she loved the lipstick.  I, finally finding my ability to small talk, showed her my finger nails and bragged on the fact that I had painted them five days earlier.  She bought three bottles of nail polish and I grabbed two of the lipsticks, none of which cost more than $2!  How great is that?!

And since I am on a role with recommendations, I have to also share another discovery and that is the La Roche-Posay Sunscreen.  My son, Parker, and I have the most sensitive skin and he kept having terrible skin rashes from the typical sun screens.  I went on a hunt for a fragrance free, paraben free, and water resistant sun screen and this one did not disappoint.  It’s gentle on the skin and isn’t oily, so even if you are on the look out for a sunscreen just to keep away face blemishes, I really cannot give the La Roche-Posay sunscreen a bigger thumbs up!

Well, whether you decide to head to the beach, the park, or the pool, I hope this weekend gives you loads of sunshine and a good embrace with summer!
