my ride: how we {commute}

As the cold and darkness sets in quickly, I begin to remember the warmth of casual summer commutes by bike.  There is something about riding next to hundreds of other cyclists on my way from here to there… a camaraderie… a happiness that I feel with the wind in my hair, taunt muscles pumping, and the happy chatter of my little ones in the front seat…

I so miss my bike riding in the Netherlands. My Ruby (first on the little seat infront of me, and the sitting behind, calling out and waving to everyone). My son on his bike cycling by my side to school. So easy to jump on and off for shopping trips and park visits. i don’t miss the cold wet mornings though!

The cold, rainy weather is starting here in Seattle and I have to admit that I am not a fan. I do love that we have been having fires in the fireplace on the weekends but I miss the warmth of the sun. Keep posting those great photos!

@Victoria I know. We’ve talked about what life would be like without our bikes and I know we would desperately miss it too!

@Trina fires in the fireplace make the cold worth it! And thank you so much!

Beautiful ride and the images too. I envy you for having such a fun ride, I saw them a lot while visiting Amsterdam. I hope we can have them here, but it would be almost impossible too. With the average 30-34 degree Sunny day and vehicle carbon pollutant, the only things possible is only commute my kid with a car :( .
