I love giving my rooms a fresh little pick-me-up or seasonal update. With a few simple steps, you can take your rooms from winter warmth to summer bright! I always start by simply switching out the heavy blankets with lighter weight throws and pulling up the rug for summer…
A quick reorientation of a room can also give you a whole new look. I wanted to bring more light into the living room so moving the couch to the adjacent wall pulled some of the weight away from the windows and allowed more light to fill the room.
I gathered up pillows from either around the house or from my linen stash, though some are even the same! Bringing in fresh flowers is another quick way to bring a new season to any room. I like tulips in the April and roses in June.
If your new blooms are not enough, adding a new scented candle in a summery fragrance, like this Rose and Neroli candle from Neom can really round out your seasonal style.
What I love about a quick makeover, especially a seasonal change, is that you really see your room and everything in it again. We get so accustomed to our rooms when they stay exactly the same! I also prefer to give little color changes to my rooms rather than decorate with loud, themed seasonal decor. I make one very big exception for Christmas, though! (It finds it’s way into every room of the house!)
What about you? Are you ready to style your rooms for summer?
