thank you & diy {art}

in DIY, our home

I have been smiling since the moment I woke up this morning!  Everyone’s excitement over our House Hunters episode is just downright contagious!  I know a lot of you outside the US are dying to share in the experience and I promise to let you know if it becomes available online!  We are going to get on Skype in a bit and hopefully get to see it ourselves!  Thank you so much for everyone’s support and excitement and a big welcome to the many new visitors to our little blog!  Feel free to check out more of our archives and you can even subscribe by e-mail if you scroll down and add your e-mail to the grey box and click subscribe below.  That way we can stay better acquainted!

Well, since I am having the hardest time sitting still from all this happy energy, let me share my latest piece of art with you and then I will go run a few laps around the room!  I have been wanting to do some DIY art for a while and have been collecting ideas in my personal sketch notebook.  On a whim I just decided to just pull something together, so I simply painted the canvas black, waited for it to dry, and then painted a white cross with a sponge paintbrush.  Couldn’t be easier, right?  Did you know that all the Scandinavian countries have crosses on their flags?  I think that is so cool!  And now we have our own little flag, which is bold and graphic… and black and white!

Beautiful!

It’s my intention to do siomething similar: paint a canvas with chalkboard paint and then… let’s the imagination flow. I’ve bought the canvas already, now I must buy the paint

Love it! This is on my list of to-dos, too… I need to just sit down and paint. This turned out wonderfully! And loved watching you and Traveling Papa “hunt” together… you two are so cute! 🙂 Great episode!

Enjoyed seeing your family on House Hunters. You are so blessed to be able to travel so much and to live in a beautiful place like Copenhagen. My husband and I have never had the opportunity to travel outside the U.S. and Canada but definitely hope to one day and would love to see Denmark; I am 1/4 Danish!

I watched the tv show yesterday evening. It was great to see the homes you looked at and the lovey one you chose and can now picture all the photographs around the house in their true surroundings. Love the family flag too.!
