Imagine this being your front yard.  Yes, it’s true.  This is what Claudia (aka Clouds) woke up to every morning as a child growing up in the beautiful Belize!  Can you imagine?  It sure beats my view in suburban America!  Here is what Claudia said about her photo:
So every morning when I woke up either to go to school or to just get some fresh air I would see this beautiful scene just right out from our front porch. Belize has a very quaint look and feel to it.

Everyone is laid back and friendly. I grew up on the small island on Ambergris Caye just off the coast of Belize. Yes, I am an island girl I miss waking up to the sound of the sea crashing against the wharf as the boats pass by, a sound known to every islander from a very young age. On a typical Sunday afternoon people enjoy relaxing on the beach, while the kids make sand castles or try to catch little fish. This is my home!

Wow!  I’m enjoying just sitting here imagining it!  As I began thinking about my project this week I had two things in mind.  First, were the colors of the water with all it’s shades of blue.  I also couldn’t help but think of how many newlyweds love to run off to Belize for their honeymoon.  That got me thinking about the idea of “something borrowed, something blue.”

This week I created a stationary collection for a newlywed couple to use as their thank you notes.

Each card is stamped in a different shade of blue.  This week I used the colors  on my overall project rather than one card by itself.  Tricky, huh?  Now, let me show you the sweet card Claudia made!

Don’t you just love her design?  You will love checking out her blog, Cloud’s Color Garden, too!  It is SO inspiring to look through her beautiful designs!  She is on my daily blog list and she never ceases to surprise and amaze me with her talent!

So are you ready to join the fun?  Here are the details:

Who: Anyone with the slightest hankering for creativity can participate.  You also must have a blog or online gallery, such as Splitcoaststampers, Flickr, or Twopeasinabucket where you can post your projects.

What: Use the inspiration photo to inspire your own project.  It is totally up to you how you interpret the inspiration photo.  Whether it’s a card, a scrapbook page, a photo, a sewing project, a painting…

Post a photo of your project along with a description of what inspired you from the inspiration photo.  Come back to Travelingmama and post a direct link to your blog post on Mr. Linky.

When: I will post a new photo every Friday through the end of summer here at Travelingmama.  You will have one week to complete the challenge!  Yeah!

Where: You can also post the inspiration photo on your blog to show your readers what inspired your project!

If you need more clarification you can check this post or e-mail me!  Also, as a separate request I am still looking for more inspiration photos!  E-mail them to me at travelingmama@pobox.com and tell me about your photo.  If it is accepted I will request a project from you so you too can be highlighted here on our Traveler’s Inspiration Challenge!

had to take a break with all the projects in the house, but I’m back on it this time! I’m a sucker for blues and greens, and we’re finishing my office basic setup this weekend, so hopefully I’ll pull together something. =) Oh what I wouldn’t give to see the ocean right now!! I feel so landlocked here in Germany!

Yay! Another one of my fave designers! These challenges are so fun! 🙂

What a dream to live in a place like that! *deep hopeful sigh* I’m headed to the beach next weekend! I’ll pretend I’m in Belize! 🙂

Thanks for sharing!! Can’t wait to play! (I don’t think I use blue very much… I need some ROYAL blue ink in my stash… ANYONE HAVE A SUGGESTION???)

Thanks to Claudia for sharing the memory, picture, and card – what a neat way & place to grow up.
Tina, that is a fantastic gift for newlyweds! Beautiful and useful, that lovely duo…
(I have a friend who gives me handmade sets of cards, since my time is limited these days – and the cards are so appreciated!)
Ya’ll are gonna force me out to beef up my crafting supplies, with all these great paprecrafts!

What a breathtaking view! Claudia is SO lucky to have had it for her everyday!
And, if I may ask, which stamps did you use for the stationary set background? I love them!

Such an amazing view out your front door! What a wonderful way to grow up – I can’t even imagine (I grew up in suburban USA too!)

Thank you, Claudia – Great inspiration pic (and card too). Thanks for another great challenge, Tina. Hope that you are having a great week. I know I could look it up, but what is the time difference there vs. let’s say EST in the US?
