visiting {frederiksborg} castle

I hope that everyone is well and that your year is off to a great start?  My mom left a couple days ago, which was a very sad day indeed, but I thought I might cheer myself up by sharing some of the things we did together starting with our visit to Frederiksborg Slot (or castle). The days have been very dark and quite dreary lately, but the light was so soft and melancholy that day… I found myself holding my breath… perhaps in the vain hope that the moment would not pass by too suddenly… The colors were deep and rich, which is exactly what one might expect of somewhere so regal and stately…

It was lovely allowing our imaginations to run wild… envisioning ourselves as guests at a royal ball and dining at a great feast… We felt a bit under dressed in our jeans and wellies, but we did not let that bother us a bit!

Beautiful!

You must come to Portugal and visit some palaces in Lisbon and Sintra. We’ll love it!

Castles are fun – one of the perks with Europe in my opinion. :-)

Love your boots! I was in Købnhavn last week and I bought me some Hunterboots at Magasinet! :) Love this city! Next year we will stay longer…this time we came with the DFDS from Oslo and had only 5 hours.
