Where to Stay in Melbourne :: The White Room

In our family of travelers, we each have a long list of places that we would love to visit, but one place that always hits the top of all of our lists is Australia.  My son, Parker, has developed a habit of calling his brother and friends, “mate” all the time, and therefore thinks it would be cool to go where they use the word most frequently.  My daughter thinks it would be life altering to see a real kangaroo, while my littlest just wants to find Nemo.  My husband thinks it sounds exotic and a little wild, but my motivation is absolutely centered on the design culture.  So many cool things seem to be coming from all different parts of Australia lately!  (And the accent certainly doesn’t hurt, either!)

When I saw the latest from Etc Magazine with The White Room, I knew this is just where to stay in Melbourne and I was immediately intrigued.  Decorated with a monochromatic industrial feel, the home is a converted garage that features beautiful french linens, a host of interesting vintage pieces, and enough space that you might just be tempted to book a couple weeks and use this as a starting point to your big Australian adventure.   I know I am sold!

Yes yes yes – come down to explore the lucky country! If you do, you’ll have to visit with us in Sydney and the country – Southern Highlands – which you would love Tina! As for the White House – drooling! So beautiful. Make sure you put your visit into the priority list and I’ll have the red carpet ready!!!!! You’ll also have to then go to NZ – gobsmackingly beautiful – particularly the South Island. Central Otago steals my heart!

This home is just mouth watering, on my mood board for future ideas.
Tina we would love to have you and your lovely family visit our beautiful city.
Gorgeous architecture, warm sandy beaches, (although a bit cold at the moment), design markets, industrustrial design cafes, amazing food, great coffee ok I could go on, but you will love Melbourne.

When you do plan a trip to Melbourne, Australia, you should look up South Yarra. It’s a really nice little area that is accessible to many parts of town.
